Here I am! Staying cozy Canadian-style – just throw on an extra sweater, right? I am keeping the art flowing out of the studio. Thanks to all the supporters out there who have been following on Instagram and in person at Pacific Arts Market where a selection of my original art is for sale.
I am due to share a sneak peek inside my studio. I recently signed a lease on a studio near the beach in Vancouver, B.C. The space is inside a heritage garage, built a hundred years ago. I worked for a few months painting, building walls and adding flooring to the inside. The husband got roped in to insulate the ceiling because he has many random skills that I always come to appreciate!
There is not much natural light so I installed an awesome LED flood light in the ceiling as well as kitchen under-cabinet lighting directly over my two workstations. There is a colour station on the stand-up drafting table, and an inking station on the long workbench.
Did you notice the hammock?! Every studio space needs a corner to put up one’s feet. My much-loved chair hammock from “The Hangout Place” on Granville Island is getting some winter use in a dedicated spot in the studio.
