Lino Printmaking is So Much Fun!
Grab a carving tool, dig into some Lino, roll out the ink and let’s make prints! Lots and lots of prints. That’s the real beauty of Lino printmaking. Once you have your design carved on your linoleum or rubber blocks, you can play with endless variations on your design. Switch up the colours, try some lightening medium, or print only the outlines. It all adds up to tons of fun.
One thing I have realized, which surprised me, is that the carving stage is rather soothing. Once you’ve drawn or traced your image onto the Lino, the carving gouges come out. Slow and steady handiwork follows. And letting go of speed is necessary to make precision cuts. In my workshops, that’s a frequent comment: “Carving is actually really relaxing”.
